Your parents limit your phone use to 18 hours per week. You are using you phone line (or landline) to make or take calls in and dial-up for internet use. You need to budget that time for phone use with your friends and for the hours spent using the internet. Your parents will consider or count one hour on-line as 0.5 hours of phone time since some of your time is spent on doing homework (probably online).
An algebraic set-up is x+0.5y=18 (Note 0.5 = 1/2) where x=hours spent on the phone y=hours spent on-linme with the internet
a. Change or convert the algbraic set-up thats in standard form into funciton form
b. Make a table of values for x=5, 10, 15
You dont have to do all fo them-any help is appreciated so thanks so much in advance! Pleasee help!!

A) x+ .5y = 18
Subtract x
.5y= 18-x
Multiply both sides by 2
2(.5y)= 2(18-x)
Y= 36-2x
Or
Y= -2x+36
This function assumes you will use all 18 hours, and given x hours on the phone, you will have y hours left for internet.
B) y= 36-2x
x | y
5 | 26
10| 16
15| 6
Hoping this helps!
