if you want to factor it, which looks like you do since you have (x-?)(x-?), this is what you do.
you have to find 2 numbers that multiply to -14 and add to -4. since 14s only factors are 2 and 7 and 1 and 14, there is no combination of positive and negatives that would equal -4. so therefore, the equation is not factorable.
If you wanted to solve the equation though, you would have to put it in the quadratic equation to get an answer, not just factor it and put it in (x-?)(x-?) form.
