Thanks for any replies!-Youre either integrating from right to left or mixing up the top and bottom curves. They intersect at -1 and 4, and the line is above the quadratic.......
Find the area of the region bounded by the curves. y = x^2 - 2x, y = x+4.

When I work out this problem, I receive -125/6. The solution is 125/6. Could someone please work this problem out and pinpoint my mistake? Thanks for any replies!

You're either integrating from right to left or mixing up the top and bottom curves. They intersect at -1 and 4, and the line is above the quadratic. So the area is

4
∫ (x + 4) - (x² - 2x) dx = 125/6
-1
