i m nt able to understand how to proceed with the following question using beta , gamma functions..!
please explain the steps involved...if not the whole then please give me the hint of what am i supposed to do in the question??
prove that : beta(m+1 , n) = (m/ m+n) * beta (m,n)

prove that : beta(m+1 , n) = (m/ m+n) * beta (m,n)
-
B(m+1, n)
= Γ(m+1) Γ(n) / Γ((m+1) + n), converting to Γ
= m Γ(m) * Γ(n) / [(m+n) Γ(m+n)], via Γ(x+1) = x Γ(x)
= (m/(m+n)) * Γ(m) Γ(n)/Γ(m+n)
= (m/(m+n)) B(m, n), converting back to B.
I hope this helps!
