I keep getting weird answers fro these....

5n+3 = 14 - 6n

5x + 2 = x + 5

1/2 (2n + 6) = 5n -12 - n

The key is to regroup like terms:
5n+3 = 14 - 6n
11n = 11
n = 1

5x + 2 = x + 5
4x = 3
x=3/4

1/2 (2n + 6) = 5n -12 - n
n + 3 = 4n - 12
3n = 15
n = 5

There you go!

11n=11
n=1

5x + 2 = x + 5
4x=3
x=0.75

1/2 (2n + 6) = 5n -12 - n
n+3=4n-12
15=3n
n=5
