A cereal maker places a game piece in its cereal boxes.The probability of winning a prize is 1 in 4, find the probability that you win your 1st prize with your 4th purchase.

I'll have to disagree with Justin. I think it goes like this:
the probability of winning is 1/4 with each cereal box you purchase, but you have to NOT win on the first 3 boxes so
p = 3/4 * 3/4 * 3/4 * 1/4 = 27/256 = 0.10546875
the probability of winning is 1/4 with each cereal box you purchase, but you have to NOT win on the first 3 boxes so
p = 3/4 * 3/4 * 3/4 * 1/4 = 27/256 = 0.10546875

1/256
Each chance has a 1/4 probability.
1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/256
Each chance has a 1/4 probability.
1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 * 1/4 = 1/256

it is very likely but cereal makers rip u off on that stuff so, more or less likely
