Is there a formula?Thanks!And in this case the points are (-3,5) & (4,:)-Yes, there is a formula.......
What is the distance between (-3,5) and (4,-1)?
How do I work this problem? Is there a formula?
Thanks!

Use the distance formula:

D=√[(x₂-x₁)² + (y₂-y₁)²]

And in this case the points are (-3,5) & (4,-1)

D=√[(4-(-3))² + (-1-5)²] = √(49+36) = √(85)

And so the distance between these points is √(85)

Yes, there is a formula. It's actually called the distance formula.

d = the square root of [(ysub2 - ysub1)^2 + (xsub2 - xsub1)^2]

Since I can't really write it out well on here, just search 'the distance formula' on google and you will get examples, etc.
