Problem with math... please help

Okay so when Im doing anything to do with any kind of math, I get so upset! I can't do it no matter how hard I try! Ill think I can do it, then as soon as I go to take a test or do my hw, it just slips my mind like I never even learned it! It makes me feel so stupid because I just can't comprehend it.Im in 10th grade and ive had this problem since I can remember. It was so bad at one point that me and my mom got in arguments because she would be trying to help me and I couldn't get it. That was in 5th grade. Now, I just don't ask for help because I wont get it anyways. Im excellent at all my other classes though! I just finished my English II class with a 90% and currently making a 92% and I finished World History with a 89%. I just don't understand why math is so hard for me.Any suggestions? Any advice?

Btw, Im not trying to have a "pity party" and Im not trying to "tut my horn" with all my other grades. I just need to know why this is. Thanks. :)

I am the exact opposite of you. I love math and hate english. You see, some people are born very literate person and can read something easier than others can. This is who you are, you not only read easier and faster than I do, but you probably enjoy it a lot more than I do too. But you hate math because you're no good at it, because you're not a very mathy person. People tend to enjoy things they're good at, and give up easily on things they're not so good at. Baseball players probably found baseball easier for them than basketball, etc.. It's not that you're dumb. But do remember that there are people out there who can do both math and literature, and those are the people who have exceptionally high IQ's.

Since you are excellent in English and History why do you worry about math...it is just that not all are perfect in all subjects those who are good at math may be bad in English so dont worry but nurture your interest in the area which you love most and naturally you will top that subject...
