I think I'm good at math but my teacher says I can't handle it. Im getting a 78 in grade 11 functions... whats so difficult about calculus? Im gonna be really pissed if I don't get into this class.

What makes you think random people online can determine that better than your teacher who sees you several hours a week?
IMO, high school calculus is laughably easy, but I have a very skewed perspective on it. Most people find it difficult, though the more mathematically inclined ~1% of the population breezes through it. It's mostly algebra at that level, if it's any help.
In any case, you can always try to find a calculus tutorial online and see if it's too hard, or you could ask to borrow the course textbook from your teacher. If you were able to do a few of the problems, they might be inclined to let you in.

A 78 is a C+. That's not the best grade in the world to get. You need atleast 2% more to get a B-, which is an acceptable grade. It's not you who should think you're good at math, it's the teacher, and if you're getting a C, I can see why she isn't confident sending you to Calc. Calculus is the next step after Pre Calc, and Pre Calc is the next step from Algebra 2 and Trig, so if you don't have that basis of math, you need to take summer courses or something.

If you're going to Calc. 1, it is not really that hard. It is, however, different from any math course you have taken so far. If you are struggling in the math class you are now, I would say that you should try working on what you have problems with a little over the summer. Once you have that down, just make sure to study once you get to Calculus. Good luck!

Is calculus hard: yes it is hard if you don't have a well supported foundation.
Can you handle it?: Ask yourself that question.

depends how much effort you put in,
