5^x=125

Let's say I didn't know off the top of my head that 5^3=125, how would I set it up to solve x and get "3" ? Thanks!

-
xlog5 =log125 so x= (log125)/(log5) =3...................method 1

5^X =5^3 equating powers x= 3................. method 2

5^x=125 -->make 125 an exponential form, it should have the base same with the other side which is 5 so we could equate their exponents

125 is also 5^3 right? so 5^x = 5^3, now since they already both have the same bases, equate their exponents, x=3
