the question is like y_2(t)=t^(-1)

but in the steps they have put the problem like y_2(t)=1/t

so i was wondering is that fine??

Yes. t^(-n) = 1/(t^n) in general and in this case t^(-1 = 1/(t^1) = 1/t.
