It is irrational because if you try to find the value of pi,it comes to be 3.141592654____________to infinite i.e it is non terminating.So,it is irrational.

Pi is not really 22/7
it's just an approximation. Pi is close to 22/7 but not exactly.In the real number Pi there are no repeating numbers etc.

It is irrational due to the fact that it CANNOT be expressed as a fraction a/b where a,b are integers.
