Add 250 to both sides,x = 250 • (49 / 250),......
4x + 3(18/49x) - 250 = 0

-
4x + 3/1(18/49)x - 250 =0

4x + 54/49(x) = 250

4(49)/49(x) + 54/49(x) = 250

196/49(x) + 54/49(x) = 250/1

250/(49)x = 250/1

divide both sides by 250/49 to isolate x.... AKA MULTIPLY both sides by 49/250!

49/250(250/49)x = (250/1)(49/250)

x = 250/1 times 49/250

NOTE that 250's cross-cancel each other out, leaving you with

x= 1/1 TIMES 49/1

x= 49/1

x= 49

(Assuming you add the brackets correctly, when do multiplication and division, we go from left to right: x = 49)
Bracket first

4x + 54/49 x - 250 = 0

Combine terms

4 54/49 x - 250 = 0

Add 250 to both sides, and change 4 54/49 to a mixed fraction
250 / 49 x = 250

Divide both sides by 244 / 49
x = 250 / (250 / 49)
x = 250 • (49 / 250), 250 cancels each other out
x = 49
