How do I answer the following problems? I forgot what my teacher taught me. Its spring break at the moment, and I regret not doing these right when I got home from school so it was still fresh in mind. I didn't bring my notebook. I don't need direct answers, but at least some explanations please?
1) If (r,3) is in the solution set of 2x+y=7, then the value of r must be?
2) The graph of y=3x-4 is parallel to the graph of:
(a) y=4x-3 (b) y=3x+4 (c) y=-3x+4 (d) y=3
3) Write an equation of the line whose y-intercept is -1 and which is parallel to the line whose equation is y=3x+5.
4) Write an equation whose slope is zero and which passes through the point, (-5,7).
5) An equation of the line which passes through the point, (3,2) and which has a slope of 4 is
(a) y-2=4(x-3) (b) y+2=4(x-3) (c) y-2=-4(x-3) (d) y-2=(1/4)(x-3)
6) Which is an equation of the line that passes through the points (1,3) and (-1,1)?
(a) x=1 (b) y=2x+1 (c) y=x+2 (4) y=3

1. 2
2. B
3. y=3x-1
4. y=7
5. A
6. C
I will explain after you see that I answered first = )
1. 3 must be the y-value. Hence 2x + 3=7. Solve from there.
2. X indicates slope, so since B has 3x then its that.
3. Since its parallel it must be in the form of y=3x +b. Since -1 is the y intercept you know that -1= 3(0) +b. Solve for that you will find that b is -1.
4. basically you have y=0X + b. So substitute the values and you will find that y has to equal 7, so y=7
5. Just put the points in and see which one works. And also remember that it has to be 4x.
6. Just put the points in and see
Hope I helped = )
