. So why are we told that Deposition occurs as a river slows down and loses energy.Help Appreciated :)-River velocity tends to increase as the river grows from a brook to a mature river, but slows again as the river widens to an estuary, or spreads out into a delta. Much deposition occurs in the final stages of the river.......
We were taught that river velocity increases downstream, and that deposition happens more down stream.. So why are we told that Deposition occurs as a river slows down and loses energy.
