I am comparing these two topics and I am wondering how did the geography and climate effect the battle? Did the geography or climate effect it at all? Thanks

Climate didn't really have an impact on the battle. It's only real impact was in the decision to have a Naval Base there. Were it not for having a base there, Japan might not have tried to do a sneak attack if it had to come all the way over here to the US Mainland to hit us.
They might have, but that's an expenditure of even more fuel, time, and the fact that on the Mainland we had more in the way of backup from US Army Air Bases and other Naval Bases on the West Coast.
Which one could they hit? With the number of bases along the west coast, an attack on one would have had an immediate response from the others. Making it more risky.
So the climate of Hawaii made it appealing to have a naval base out there, and by building one far away from support made it an ideal target.
Geography, much as Climate above. The inland harbors made it a safe port for ships to weather out the Pacific cyclones. So it was a good choice to put a base there. Sadly again this was a port that was far from support in case of an attack.

I don't know if I would call it a battle, but the geography definitely played a factor because it was the closest piece of American soil from Japan, and they could run right back across the Pacific when they were done

there wasn't really a battle at pearl harbor just a surprise bombing.
