Alright so after some thinking I've decided to scrap my medical ambition for an engineering one! Thing is, I'm good at both (i've got good grades and aptitude for both careers) so in the end, i wanna go for engineering rather than medicine. Question is: which field of engineering has scope for flourishing in future? Civil? Environmental? I really don't know which one to choose.

Well, what interests you? Does the idea of working with things like integrated circuits and logic gates to build digital systems and design computer chips themselves sound interesting to you? That'd be computer engineering, which is a subset of electrical engineering. Does working on communications electronics or electrical power systems or anything involving electricity interest you? That'd be electrical engineering. Does working on public works like sewage systems, new roads and bridges (not necessarily big fancy bridges), and waterworks interest you? That'd be civil engineering. Does working on machines with moving parts, i.e. cars, robotics, those machines that manufacture things like you see in factories, etc. interest you? That'd be mechanical engineering. Does working on airplanes or satellites or space systems interest you? That'd be aerospace engineering, a subset of mechanical. Do you like the idea of creating chemically-driven processes such as to synthesize food additives or medicines? That'd be chemical engineering. Do you like the idea of working on materials like new types of plastic or building materials and the like? That'd be materials engineering. Do you like the idea of writing computer programs like operating systems, games, database programs, business applications, and the like using computer languages like C++ and Java? That'd be computer science.
Environmental engineering and biomedical engineering are new fields that are still developing, it remains to be seen whether environmental engineering truly has a future or is a political fad with no long-term market potential, and biomedical engineering is just so new that many people don't know what to do with the grads.
