What is horizontal contact in geology

The question says'shows an exposed horizontal contact of a limestone and the underlying mudstone'
but what is 'horizontal contact' then? is it horizontal bed which is following the topographic contons in the map ?

Horizontal contact is simply when the layer is horizontally above the other layer. So in this example, the limestone is directly above the mudstone like layers in a cake - perfectly flat on top of one another.
