And it isnt really about the destruction of the world, but about a reset of all that is. Its supposed to happen over and over with thousands of years long intervals. The fact is, no one pays any attention to any other facets of Mayan religion or mythology, so why are so many people paying attention to this?......

It's all based around a Mayan myth. And it isn't really about the destruction of the world, but about a reset of all that is. It's supposed to happen over and over with thousands of years long intervals.
The fact is, no one pays any attention to any other facets of Mayan religion or mythology, so why are so many people paying attention to this? It's meaningless. We may as well go back to ancient Greek myth and start worshiping Zeus again.
EDIT: The Mayans didn't need a leap year because they already worked out that a year was slightly longer than 365 days. They were better at keeping a calendar than our ancestors were.

well i saw a very interesting thing about the end of the world and it may sound dumb but all i have to say is LEAP YEAR! they said the mayans had no idea about leap year because it was invented by ceaser sometime in the B.C era after the mayans. SO... weve had about 510 leap years or days skipped, the world shouldve ended months ago if the mayan calendar thing was true...

No...So basically they claim some "planet" going to collide with earth, but this "planet" would of been visable from earth by now. And the Mayans didn't count leap years on their calendars so "2012" would of happend a long time ago..google "NASA debunks 2012 end of the world"

No,no...It's just a change in the human timeline, a shift in the counsciousness. And the evil world leader's to agenda to pushing the human race towards a post human age, but we can get out of it hopefully.

Why does it matter?
If it ends, it ends. Absolutely nothing, nothing, you can do about it.
2012 is not real, however. It's impossible to predict when, exactly, the world will end.
