Another oxidation question.

In the reaction 2PbSO4+2H2O=Pb+PbO2+2H2SO4
My answer suggests that one atom of Pb oxidizes from +2 to +4, and the second atom of Pb reduces from +2 to 0.
Is it possible that different atoms of the same element can be responsible for the oxidation and reduction process in a redox reaction?

Thank you

You are describing what happens in a car battery, Lead is both oxidized and reduced at the same time
