I bought some sellotape from the pound shop and it smells like $ # ! +

-What do you expect for a pound.-Could be hide glue...it really stinks, unless perfumed.......

The sticky side of the sellotape (or sticky tape) smells like horse manure or cow pat, is it possible that they could have used such ingredients in it?

It smells that bad and strong that I've had to get rid of it.

quite a few adhesives are urea based, but it's only meant to be sticky, not nicely scented

Guess it comes from the plastics n adhesives used.
