A 0.266g sample of.zinc is added to the hydrochloric acid. 0.186g of zinc is.later recovered from.the acid. What is the percentage mass loss of the zinc to the correct.number of significant figures? I got the percentage mass loss to be 30.1% but the answer is 30%. Why so? The s.f of the least precise data is 3 ain't.it? Since.so, I ought to.have.3.sf in the final answer, why is it 30,.which.is.only 1 s.f? Please help.me out really will appreciate this! Thank you so much!

% mass lost = (0.266 - 0.186 / 0.266)(100%) = (0.08 / 0.266)(100%) = 30%

The amount of mass lost is 0.08 g which has one significant figure, hence the answer must be taken to one significant figure.
