Iron (Fe) has multiple ions, including Fe2+ and Fe3+, which is why you have to distinguish whether it is a 2+ (II) or 3+ (III) ion. Zinc (Zn) is always a 2+ ion and so you don't need the "(II)" when writing the name of the compound. Hope this helps.

Maybe. Iron has 2 normal oxidation states Fe(II)and Fe (III). Been a while since Chem class, by=ut I think Zinc has only one normal oxidation state, (II) so it doesn't need to be specified.
