Are there any other compounds that can replace H2SO4 as an acidifier for MnO4?

Any strong acid can do it, all you really need is to have some readily available source of H+ for the reduction reaction in order to produce H2O from the oxygens of MnO4. I think H2SO4 is only really used through convenience due to the fact that it's diprotic, so less is needed to provide the same amount of H+
