C8H8
1,2-dimethylbenzene
It says number of carbon environments = four
number of aromatic environments = three
I understand carbon environments, but what are aromatic environments?
Can you explain to me, relating it to the structure?

So what it means by aromatic environments is how many different singals you would see in the NMR for the benzene ring. In this case due to the steriochemistry there are three different types of carbon in the centeral ring. Draw out the structure and number the different carbons.
