A gaseous sample containing a mixture of only nitrous oxide and propane, occupies a volume of 3.90L at 30°C.
The partial pressure of N2O is 0.290 atm and that of C3H8 is 0.495 atm.
What is the total pressure of the mixture?
7.85×10-1 atm i got this one!
2. What is the mole fraction of N2O in the mixture?
3. How many moles of N2O are in the sample?
4. What is the total mass of the sample?

2. mole fraction is moles N2O/total moles
pv=nRT
(.29)(3.9)=n(.0821)(303)
n = 0.045 moles N2O
(.785)(3.9)=n(.0821)(303)
n = 0.123 moles TOTAL
0.045/.123 = 0.37
3. How many moles of N2O are in the sample... which we already found above, 0.045 moles.

i just figured out the answer to number of
mole fraction = pressure of N20/total pressure = 0.290/7.85*10^-1) = 0.369
mole fraction = pressure of N20/total pressure = 0.290/7.85*10^-1) = 0.369
