Thanks-Your second answer is technically correct.If it is not looking for that, it is looking for the shorthand which would just be [Ar].To do this kind of shorthand, put the noble gas from the previous line (or in this case the noble gas it is) and then write out the configuration.For example,......

S2-
Cl-
Ca2+

For the first one I tried 2,8,5 and then 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 and they were both wrong! I don't know what it wants! Any help? Thanks
