CHEMISTRY HELP?! Molar mass of solute

You calculate the molar mass in the same way, just add the mass of 6 H2Os to the mass of 1 AlCl3 molecule.......
I know how to do Molar Mass of a solute if it's something like NaCl. But right now I need to find out the molar mass of AlCl3 times 6H2O. I'm not sure how you do it with multiplication. I went over one in class & I did it the way I thought you do it just now but didn't get the same answer. Could someone explain please?

When you say AlCl3 times 6H2O, I'm assuming you meaning it's written like AlCl3(dot)6H2O. This is a hydrate; it means there are 6 water molecules attached to every aluminum III chloride molecule. You calculate the molar mass in the same way, just add the mass of 6 H2O's to the mass of 1 AlCl3 molecule.
