Need some help with this question. i will describe the diagram to the best of abilities. thanks for your assistance. i appreciate it.

Diagram equals: Top line is horizontal from left tor right: 1 ohm 1 ohm then POINT #1
Middle level consists of 3 vertical lines connecting top and bottom lines: from left to right is 1 ohm, 4 ohm and 5 ohm
bottom horizontal line 2 ohm and 2 ohm.
point #1 & #2 are on the far right with point #1 being on top horizontal line and point #2 being on bottom horizontal line. The question is as follows:

The equivalent resistance between points 1 and 2 of the circuit shown is:
A) 1 Ohm
B) 1.6 Ohm
C) 2 Ohm
D) 2.5 Ohm
E) 3 Ohm

On the left side, we have 1Ω, 1Ω and 2Ω in series giving a total of 1+1+2 = 4Ω.

Replacing the 1Ω, 1Ω and 2Ω by a single 4Ω, we see it is in parallel with the middle 4Ω.
4Ω in parallel with another 4Ω gives a total of (half of 4) = 2Ω

(I used a shortcut. In full 1/RT = 1/R1 + 1/R2
1/RT = 1/4 + 1/4
1/RT = 1/2
RT = 2Ω)

Continuing from left to right, you should see 1Ω, the 'new' 2Ω and another 2Ω are series. Total 5Ω.

That leaves 5Ω in parallel with another 5Ω. Total = 2.5Ω. Answer D.
