Major in chemistry or pre pharmacy

I plan on going to pharmacy school. im going to need a good job though while in pharmacy school so I can afford it.
Should i major in Chemistry? or Pre Pharmacy?

Pre-pharmacy your only option is Pharmacy. That;s how it will look. However, with chemistry, there are many fields which chemistry can be applied and not just pharmaceuticals, but also industrial, chemical, factory, teaching, quantum, astronomy as well as biochemistry. You yhave your options more open with chemistry rather than pre-pharm because if you don't decide on pre-pharm then ur stuck with pre-pharm with out any experience in any of the other fields you may have studied as a chemistry major such as organic, biochemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic, pharmochemistry and various other courses which can be applied to a wide variety of fields and not just pharmacy. That is how I see it. Keep your options open is how I like to think of it.

Anything you get prior to actually getting a degree will be a low paying job. Don't expect anything better than $8- $9/ hr.
