What is the mass of 2.82 mol oxygen gas

[From: ] [author: ] [Date: 11-06-07] [Hit: ]
0 (16.m = 90.:)-1 gram mole of oxygen by definition has a mass of 32g.So 2.82 mols is 2.82 x 32=90.......
And how would you work this out?
thanks in advance <3

-
n = m/M, therefore m = n x M.
So the equation is m = 2.82 x 32.0 (16.0 x 2 for oxygen gas (O2))
m = 90.24g

:)

1 gram mole of oxygen by definition has a mass of 32g. Oxygen is O2 and the relative atomic mass of O is 16

So 2.82 mols is 2.82 x 32 = 90.24g

The value of the relative atomic mass can be obtained either from the periodic table, or by looking up atomic mass tables on the internet.

n = 2.82 mol
M = 16.0
m = ?

m = n x M
= 2.82 x 16.0
= 45.12g

there you go :)
