Is an icicle a living thing

An icicle is a uniform, crystallized aqueous solution because the temperature is below the melting point of the material so it has a recognizable physical form but only while the water is in its solid phase. It will increase or decrease in size only in response to external temperatures since they have no internal regulation of the response.Icicles cannot sense the environment and act to modify the internal conditions to preserve their current form. An icicle simply drips when the temperature rises sufficiently, shedding excess melted liquid.......
An icicle is not a living organism it only grows by depositing fresh layers to its surface. Icicles grow from sunlight melted runoff water suffering a sudden heat diffusion once shaded and in subfreezing air while on the icicle. The drip runs down the icicle out of the direct sunlight and freezes as its heat is radiply lost. Icicles shrink by melting or sublimation in air above freezing.

An icicle simply drips when the temperature rises sufficiently, shedding excess melted liquid. It cannot retain water except by cohesion between the molecules.

Icicles cannot reproduce themselves.
