Whats the point of dissecting frogs

I don't get why they kill hundreds of frogs so kids who don't really care can cut them upp? but I have to dissect a frog tomorrow well all week ):

Dissecting an animal that has organs humans can relate to (brain, heart, lungs, intestines) is supposed to educate you to anatomy. Frogs are used (rather than something like dogs), because most people don't feel sentimental about frogs.

In this day of high-definition videos, no frog should have to die just so kids can see its organs. I'm 67, and I still remember being horrified at having to dissect a frog. Most schools nowadays (at least here in California) provide a video alternative for kids who object to being responsible for a frog's death.
