My teacher told me you can take dna from a strawberry so I want to learn how. Please be discriptive an detailed.

Well a strawberry is composed of a ton of cells, just like we are composed of a ton of cells. The strawberry cells have a nucleus that contains all of their DNA (other than mitochondrial DNA, but don't worry about that). So what you have to do is isolate the DNA from the nucleus of the strawberry cells. To do this you have to mix the cells with enzymes that will degrade the cell wall of the plant cell, and free up the DNA inside. You then isolate the DNA by precipitating it from a solution using some sort of a kit, or other chemicals to make it possible to purify the DNA and get rid of the extra cellular components.
