Donating Blood Amount Questions?
Hey guys,
So I just donated blood for the first time on Oct. 30, and they said they took about ~622ml? A normal pint is roughly ~470 right? I mean, I don't mind and I feel fine, I was just curious to see if this is the norm or they take more occasionally. I turned out to be O- too, go figure. :) Anyway, there was no dizzy feeling afterwards (just a little fatigue and I felt dreamy and happy). Also, I had a cholesterol of 130 (I'm 17 by the way), is this good? They didn't have a reference on the site.
Thanks guys, I just want to know if this is the norm.

A whole blood donation is abut 500 ccs and the collection device automatically stops then (the bag can't hold much more) but there is about 60ccs of anticoagulant in the bag to start. The rest of your Qs-the cholesterol s fine. And not feeling anything after a donation is normal.
