E. coli can make toxins. Most E. coli strains are "good bacteria" that live inside your gut, but some specific (pathogenic = sick making) strains can make toxins.
Here are some variants of those E. coli strains and the toxins they make:

Enterotoxigenic E coli (ETEC), causes travelers diarrhea, make a heat stable protein (ST) and a heat labile protein (LT)

Enterohemorrhagic E coli (EHEC), causes severe gastrointestinal disease with bloody stools, makes a toxin called Shiga-like toxin
