Not again!

Monkeys and Humans evolved from a common ancestor. Since both are successful in their habitats, neither has become extinct! There is no law of evolution that says a species HAS to be replaced by a newer one...

Because humans didn't "come from" monkeys.
Humans share a common ancestor with apes.
Sharing a common ancestor is different from "coming from"
Monkeys and different from apes (ask any 12-year old in a UK school)
Try thinking about these questions:-
If Europeans became Americans, why are there still Europeans?
If Jews became Christians, why are there still Jews?
If this question is asked (and answered) about once a week why don't people look up previously-asked questions?

You see, this question is asked all the time, and the answer is always the same.
We didn't come from monkeys, we came from unevolved humans that share the same ancestors as monkeys. Natural selection favored both monkeys and us, we evolved in intelligence and they evolved in agility, strength, immunity, etc.

It is like asking "since children came from adults why we still have adults."
Someone asked me why since dogs evolved from wolves we still have wolves.
They did not ALL change.
Imagine that a wolf had five offspring. Two of them mutated into dogs. The other three are still wolves. The wolves are not going to go extinct just because some of their offspring mutated into dogs.

Humans and monkeys are different species.Though they have some similar features but they aren't the same.We are different from monkeys as "tree is different from a plant".

Maybe SOME Monkeys were Smarter than Others... -And decided They didn't want to Become Humans... ;)

Um, people still asking these questions?
I'm pretty sure I as a 12 year old like 3 years ago told EVERYONE THE SAME THING!
We did not evolve from monkeys, our ancestors were JUST like monkeys but not the same.
