I have green eyes and blonde hair, and everyone in my family has either blue or green eyes. My husband is from Ecuador, and has the stereotypical look: dark skin, brown eyes, black hair. Obviously, not all Ecuadorians look this way (the country is pretty diverse), and for this reason, he is convinced our children will have my green eyes and significantly lighter hair (he says dark blonde). Everyone in his family looks like him, although their skin tones range in shade, but ALL of them have brown eyes except for ONE cousin, who has green eyes.
Realistically, isn't there practically a zero percent chance of our children having green eyes and blonde hair like me? I keep trying to explain to him the idea of dominant and recessive traits, but he doesn't (refuses to) believe me. He thinks that since one half of their genes will come from me, there is at least a fifty percent chance that they'll have my coloring. I keep telling him that he's wrong, but rest assured, our grandkids could have green eyes.
Who is right? I've never claimed to be a science wiz, and he is scientifically much smarter than me, but I'm not so sure about whether or not he is in the genetics department. I feel like the recessive/dominant debate makes the answer to this pretty clear.
Thanks for any kind help. :-)

You don't have be a science wiz. The mosaic model of inheritance was thrown out like 200 years ago...
You are correct (but there's more than a 0% chance, a surprising number of people from central and the northern parts of south America have green eyes, but the brown hair is mostly a given)
