The answer is C.
A, B and D all are the how pills work as they are the oral devices to prevent the pregnancy.
C is how condoms work that is barrier method to prevent pregnancy.
EDIT - To those who think answer is A, well pills do prevent building up of endometrium and hence regulate the menstrual cycle thus avoiding implantation and therefore pregnancy.

Answer is A. Birth control pills do not stop the buildup of the endometrium. If it did then it would be unnecessary to have 7 (or so) placebo of at the end of a typical pack of birth control pills and women "on the pill" would have absolutely no flow at the end of their cycle. Birth control pills "trick" the body into thinking it is pregnant so it holds onto the endometrium. The placebos allow the body time to slough off the endometrium.
