If we can put men on the Moon, why not a car that can fly, or double as a boat or even a submarine?......

If we can put men on the Moon, why not a car that can fly, or double as a boat or even a submarine?

answers:
Tom S say: All those things exist, they are expensive, but not nearly as expensive as travel to the Moon.

say: Cars that flew...check you tube videos...done in the 60's, cars that float also in the 60's. Submarine? They all can do that. Keeping them running is the hard part.
-
Jeffrey K say: Flying cars have been invented. But they have not been able to pass all the government regulations and still keep the price reasonable.
-
Gabe say: There was a big rush to make flying cars in the '60's, the problem is, all such vehicles combined all the downsides of cars with all the problems of aircraft! Braking and turning, for instance, were the equivalent of airhockey with a VERY large puck!!!
-
Raymond say: They all exist. No one wants to buy them at the price. No one knows how to make them cheap.
-
Ronald 7 say: People have and some have succeeded
All 4 take some doing but can be done
-
Nyx say: You are welcome to go out, and invent such a critter.
-
Clive say: It's done in every James Bond film. Just be very expensive, that's all.
-
Intrinsic Random Event say: We sort of do have cars that can fly, they are called helicopters.
Something that can be a car, and also fly and also go underwater?
I think that would be possible right now, but it would also be really really really really expensive, like we're talking billions just to develop and produce that vehicle, and many millions to buy one if it were developed. It doesn't exist because nobody thinks that it would be worth the trouble to make.
-
say: They have already built a flying car and one that doubled as a boat. I don't think either proved out to be popular with the consumers.
-
jonniebaby say: They’re out there. My uncle has one of each. ☝️
-
frederick say: People cant drive on the ground safely.
-
CarolOklaNola say: Flying cars exist. If you have a quarter to half million dollars you can buy one
-
RICK say: They have made cars that fly and they have made cars that cash be used as a boat
I'm 67 and these things were around while I was still in school
Check out the Taylor Aerocar from the mid 1950s. And the Amphicar from the early 1960s
-
Jim say: I have actually seen a flying car, once.

But, do you really want these crazy drivers flying at 40000 feet?
-
Not Really a Doctor say: Did you notice we don't go back to the moon? Because it's impractical, just like a car that can you can drive, fly and sail.

Now, if you're talking about a car that can fly to the moon, then you've got something there.

james say: We can build flying cars. They were the number 1 draw this year at Japans auto show. Boats as cars were made for a while. Very limited use & low sales, high price put them out of business years ago. Submarine. Leaky windows & door seals. Simi submersible is not to hard to do on a loaded vehicle. You need weight. But I have crossed many a low water crossing here in my scrum with fording gear. With the doors open to let water threw the vehicle. Across the floor up to 12 inchs. After that the water can get into the electrical box. Or I can cross knee deep water in it if I wade across first to check.

Amin Abazarsa say: If i were you, i would say "people" or "persons" instead of "men"
The way you said, you are an anti-woman i think. Can't women go to the moon technically?!
-
. say: We've already done that, but it's not popular or practical.
-
James say: Why not!
-
Choose a bloody best answer. It's not hard. say: Because it would no longer be a car. It would be a plane or a boat or a submarine.

Ask a silly question . . .
-
Bee say: I always ask things like this.
How do we have flying vehicles and robots with emotions but we don't have things like a cure for hangovers (alcohol has existed at least 10 b years) or no cure for cancer (i mean we probably do but)
