Were humans engineered to be physically weak by our alien masters

Sorry!-LOL Neotentic traits in humans are something of a mystery with several competing theories. One is that it is to do with motor coordination. Chimpanzees and gorillas grow out of their neotenic body traits normally and do develop great physical strength compared to us. However the trade off is that their muscle development precludes the ability to delicately manipulate objects in their environment. For instance you or I could do things like pick up a pin or tie knots in pieces of cotton - such tasks are beyond the chimp nervous systems ability to cope.......

Too bad, because one of the troll gifts that you can exchange your troll points for would have been a genuine tinfoil helmet for deflecting those pesky alien mind probes. Sorry!

Neotentic traits in humans are something of a mystery with several competing theories.

One is that it is to do with motor coordination. Chimpanzees and gorillas grow out of their neotenic body traits normally and do develop great physical strength compared to us. However the trade off is that their muscle development precludes the ability to delicately manipulate objects in their environment. For instance you or I could do things like pick up a pin or tie knots in pieces of cotton - such tasks are beyond the chimp nervous system's ability to cope. Early humans who retained more juvenile dexterity would have had a significant advantage in tool manufacture and that would have made neoteny an evolutionary selection pressure.

Another theory is rather more straightforward. The gracile and hairless bodies of our youthful appearance became a sexually attractive trait. It demonstrated that we were young with many years of child rearing and health still ahead of us. Younger looks meant more better mates, and again, the ability to look adolescent for life would have become a selection pressure. Brutishly muscled hairy hominids would have got left on the shelf. I mean, how attractive to you is the idea of a man or woman covered in coarse skin and total body hair?

There's other possibilities to do with hormones etc. but I'm pretty sure rebellion against our alien overlords wasn't one of them I remember!

That seems to be the opinion of some people. I recently read a book called "slave species of god" and the author speaks in painful and long winded detail the ancient alien theory put forth by Zechariah Sitchin. We were supposedly created by the Annnunaki, a highly advanced alien species, to mine for gold to repair the depleted atmosphere on their home planet, Nibiru. We were not intended to think for ourselves, but over time our intelligence evolved and we rebelled.
