And it's taking us and all the other planets with it? That means that as we spin around the center of the earth as the earth rotates on its axis, we are also orbiting the sun, as well as the whole thing going 286,000 miles per hour on top of it all.
Why are we not dizzy? Could that be what Dark Matter and Dark Energy are? Those phenomena are the inertial energy of all the moving stars?

My dear Top Contributor in Philosophy, from my point of reference in space and time, the sun spins around me, and so does our galaxy. In fact, my nose is the center of the universe, the oldest object in it, and the only object that stands still. Furthermore, the past is a sphere around my nose, which surface is the Big Bang.
But that is also the case for your nose and any other observation in space and time, anywhere in the universe. We can only observe as being the center of it. That is the true meaning of the theory of Relativity: there is no absolute reference, everything is relative to the observer. Amazing, isn't it? ;-)
Relativity is, actually, my philosophy. I see everything from my reference in "nature and nurture" (genes and education) and so does my wife, from her own point of view. We don't always agree but we are still friends! ;-)

I did not know this, as it is incorrect
The sun, and the planets with it are moving at least 486,000 mph, (776,000 kph)
Britannica 1998 says it is travelling at 504,000 mph. The site below has a table of the approximate speed of the sun as shown at various websites
The inertia of an object, earth, moon sun, you, or a tennis ball stays constant unless the object is acted on by an outside force. Dark energy, if it really exists, acts on objects to change their momentum, .
The Earth spins at a rate of 1 revolution in 24 hours
If you stand at the equator you are moving at 1000 mph
If you stand at the north or south pole, you slowly rotate one every 24 hours, and don't whizz along at all.
