If scientists know that the sun is going to eventually die, why aren't they working to prevent its death

it will change though but not for billions of years.if humans are still about in some form we would have moved on by then or maybe shifted earth around all the gas giants that we have merged into a new sun and ignited (another crap movie! i retain all the rights).if you are going to scare your kids with science try giving them the actual facts instead of random nonsence you have cobbled together from hollywood bs.......
Would it be possible to fire very high speed rockets at the sun that are titanium coated (so they don't melt before they reach the sun) with delayed fuses (like bunker buster bombs) carrying very flammable fuel that could penetrate the surface of the sun, reach its core, then explode and douse the core of the sun with their fuel and keep the sun alive? I am not a scientist, but this is my best idea. My kids are scared to death because I told them that the sun is going to die.

It would be cheaper to just replace it with another sun.

You can't possibly be serious... First, the sun will be around for billions of years (approximately 5 billion in it's current, stable state) secondly the Sun fuses something like 650 million tons of Hydrogen every second... I'd like to see what we'd build to carry that kind of load into space hurling toward the sun for 1 second of energy... Don't worry we'll be long since dead as a species and so will our planet by the time the sun goes Red Giant.

The Sun burning out sounds like a dire disaster, but I actually wouldn't worry that much about it. By the time the Sun is burning out - many millions of years from now - humans may be so technologically advanced by then that they would have found a way to relocate to other planets, and/or have discovered a source of power that is so plentiful and abundant that the Sun wouldn't even be needed anymore.

lol sounds like one of those movies i never watch because the infuriate me.

the sun will never die its not alive,it will change though but not for billions of years.
