If that was to happen then what is the point to all this if it's all going to be taken away?

As the previous answerer mentioned, it's closer to 5 billion than 5 million. But if you pose the question, you might as well ask what is the point of life if we're going to die? Well there's not one answer to that but it is human nature to fight entropy and disorder, to pic up everything when it's fallen, to have hope for the future. For most people it's making the most of the time we do have as well as leaving some for the next generation. And to answer your original question, our hope lies in technology. Look how far we've advanced in just the last 100 years. Hopefully by then we wil have perfected space travel, and thogu I don't expect anything like star wars, who knows. Most likely if were still around, humans will try to find another hospitable planet or climate. The possibilities are certainly out there.

In 5 billion years yes. The sun is just a star that is currently in its main sequence fusing hydrogen. Eventually it will start to run out of fuel towards the center where the fusion is currently taking place, so it moves outward. This will expand the star into the red giant phase. When this happens, the outer edge of the star will expand past the current orbit of Earth.

5 billion years; not 5 million. 5 billion.

No, it is NOT TRUE. Multiply by 100. it's 4.5 to 5 BILLION years when the Sun will start to expand, NOT 5 million. You are off by a factor of 100.

NO. Not 5 million years. 5 BILLION years. The sun will run out of hydrogen and become a Red Giant and destroy the world.
