Im not saying he's EXACTLY crazy. Me and my friends just watched a crazy documentary on his opinions, such as his opinion on how the Sun's solar flares or winds will damage the atmosphere or throw off radio activity, communication and electronics in 2012-2013, UFO's (i believe there are other living beings out there, but he justs sounds crazy and provides minimum back up) and classifying types of civilizations. I have respect for him, but i think his opinions are a little shocking. Im no doctor to judge, i know because im just in high school, but i wanna know your guys/gals opinions on Dr. Kaku's thoughts. But if you don't know of him, just type his name up on youtube and watch away... Thanks!

I wouldn't say that he's crazy, but he does have an awful tendency to give his opinions on subjects he knows absolutely nothing about, which no good scientist should do. That makes him more a fool than a nutcase. The fact that he appears on FOX-TV shows poor judgement.

I certainly don't think he's crazy. Just outspoken. I like him.
1: Solar wind activity does affect the magnetosphere around the planet, and a solar flare can overload the system and cause difficulties in communication.
In fact, decades ago, (March, 1989) a solar storm cause a blackout in North East when the magnetic fluxes overloaded the electrical transmission lines running out of northern Quebec.

This danger has since been accommodated for. To some extent, but not completely:

Crazy? Yeah, maybe. Or just wrong. He tends to think he's the 21st century Carl Sagan, sort of a spokesman for all science, but he says the wrong thing at the wrong time and it usually comes back to bite him.
