Are NASA and Scientists hiding the truth

Ok here's the thing several years ago I remember reading and doing a lot of research into this 2012 scenario of the planets aligning and causing mass storms throughout the world or something that would cause severe weather patterns due to the magnetic pull. Everyone was talking about it even NASA and many scientists. It was said these storms would most certainly happen just as they have in the past.

Now however when I search about these things everyone seems to deny any such planetary alignment will happen let alone the storms. When I research into when they last aligned and what happened I come across any different dates, these are some of the dates I have seen so far, 2002, 2000, 2003, 2000 - 2002, early 90's, 513 BC and so on and so forth.... those are just some of the dates that I can remember. As far as what happened some say nothing and some say the polar cap shifted and some say severe weather.

So quite simply my question is when will the align next and what could happen? and why the hell cant I find the same information as I once did, are NASA and scientists hiding something?

NASA and the Government will lie about ANYTHING they deem could lead to mass hysteria, including solar flares, aliens, potential meteor strikes on the earth etc...billions of years from now, when our sun is near its own death, and expands to envelope the earth, and the other planets closer to the sun then earth, we will ALL become the space dust we were in the beginning...

People are denying it because it's right around the corner and they don't want to look like fools. It's one thing to say something very improbable may happen over the next decade but when it's just a few months away, it's very unlikely to occur.
