U hav to know first that wht is space. It is infinite space is just the dimensions it is infinite. The expanding is universe. I mean when there is nothing there is space. We think the matter of universe is space but it is not so the space is the imaginable or maybe non imaginable multi dimensional thing in which our universe's matter occur its states. Now think what would be at the end of matter of universe means if we can reach at the edge of universe then what would we see the endless nothing. But the nothing is itself is something we called space. Space is everywhere it is infinite i hope t understand the nothing but something. Space is infinite but finite in other sense if you can think in the dimension rather than three or four.

Great question , we now have proof that space is not only expanding but it is accelerating, but the problem is that scientists don't know why they believe that it is to do with dark matter pushing space outwards kinda like an anti gravity but we cannot observe it or measure it . You question was is space infinite now nobody truelly can give you a certain answer to that the fact is we dont know however space could be infinite if it was housed inside a finite but expanding space. Weird i know but thats what scientists claim let me ask you how you think space could be infinite. I don't believe space is infinite because if it were where most of space should then end up in a big freeze and all the energy would dissipate out . However it could be maybe you might have a better theory

Because, space is constantly expanding and so I guess theoretically you could come upon a someone edge to the universe.
