In a practical sense, all current and voltage sources have at least a very small dependency on the circuits to which they are connected. But many sources, such as batteries, a.c. utility power connection, secondary terminals of a current transformer, constant voltage sources and constant current sources, etc., are considered independent, as long as the parameters of the circuit to which they are connected remain within a specific range of operating parameters. For independent voltage sources, circuit resistance must be high compared to the internal source resistance. For independent current sources, the resistance of the connected circuit must be very low.
Dependent sources are those whose output (voltage or current) depends on another voltage or current within the circuit. In practical terms, such a dependent source may be derived from an active device, such as a transistor or electronic circuit, the output of which depends on a bias voltage or current within the circuit being analyzed. A current or voltage sensor, that monitors part of the output circuit can also be used to control the current or voltage output of an electronic, dependent source as a function of the monitored portion of the circuit.

Independent voltage and current sources will provide a constant voltage or current under all conditions. Dependent sources depend on on the value of either a voltage or current (controlling source) elsewhere in the circuit. When the control source changes, the dependent source changes as well.

its exactly as it sounds! independent: doesn't depend on other currents or voltages
dependent: voltage or current is the multiple of another voltage or current in the circuits
uses in: BJT & FETS
