It's not mars bcuz mars set hours ago. Not Pluto bcuz I can see it with my eye. Very bright twinkling red. Only plants that were currently ubove my horizon was Neptune and Pluto. I know it was moving bcuz kept having to adjust my telescope. I'm in pinedale Wyoming looking west. I will look again tonight to see if object is still there.

If it's twinkling, it's almost certainly not a planet but a star. If you would tell us the TIME you observed it, we might be able to identify it. The most likely candidate at this time of year would be Antares, more in the SW than the W.

Look closely at Antares and you may see a glint of green among the red. It is actually a double star: a very bright red star with a tiny greenish companion. Sometimes with high magnification when conditions are right (steady, no twinkling) you can see that tiny greenish star among the redness.
