Could space shuttles build an orbiting space station on the moon

It only carried enough fuel to reach low earth orbit, however, make a few minor course corrections, and then return. The Russians used unmanned rockets. There is currently nothing that can send people or equipment to the moon.......
With space shuttles would it be possible to build a space station (satellite) orbiting the moon, why or why not? Woudn't it be As Difficult as bulding one on earth?

The old space shuttle had a large cargo section allowing it to haul additional modules to the ISS. It only carried enough fuel to reach low earth orbit, however, make a few minor course corrections, and then return. The Russians used unmanned rockets. There is currently nothing that can send people or equipment to the moon. The Saturn V could, but was very expensive and no longer in operation.

If you mean building a s[pace shuttle on the moon, i think it would be possible, however you would have to mine the moon first and get all the materials, which will take a lot of work, since you would also have to get rid of the radioactive materials that have been hitting the moon from the sun for thousands of years. However since the moon have 1/6 of earth's gravity. It would be probably be easier to get off. But having a space station orbiting the moon would be good as well, as it would probably make it easier to transport materials from Earth's space station to the Moon's space station.

As their designed right now, no space shuttle could reach the moon. Not only that, but there's no good reason to put a space station around the moon. Much cheaper to build a station on the moon. Cheaper 'cause many of the raw materials needed could be mined and processed from the moon itself. The only thing that couldn't be done at a station on the moon would be zero-gee experiments, but then we've got the International Space Station for that.

various Sci-Fi stories have proposed building things like space structures and interstellar spacecraft in lunar orbit, using material mined on the moon and launched into orbit using railguns or some kind of linear electric motor powered by solar arrays. the idea being that the moon has no atmosphere, so you don't need a big vertical rocket boost to get above it.

however, as other have sid, we have nothing that could easily get to the moon - the now-retired US shuttle could only get to a polar low earth orbit.

It may be easier to mine asteroids than mine the moon, in any case

yes!
